New AI Tool for Heart Failure Informed by Patients and Clinicians Across Continents

A new press release highlights how the EU-funded AI4HF project is co-designing an AI tool for heart failure care with input from patients, clinicians, and stakeholders in Europe, South America, and Africa.

Through a series of workshops and local working groups, participants have shared perspectives on how AI can support care that is personalised, ethical, and practical. Key themes include improving health and digital literacy, offering tailored lifestyle recommendations, and designing a tool that encourages shared decision-making.

Patients and clinicians have emphasised that the tool should go beyond risk prediction, providing meaningful, easy-to-understand support that fits into real-life healthcare settings.

A third round of working group sessions is currently underway, with feedback focused on the tool’s design and how it can best support communication between patients and healthcare providers.
